The number of bags you can check depends on your ticket type and SkyMiles status:

  • Basic Economy: 1 checked bag (fees apply)
  • Main Cabin: 1 checked bag included
  • Delta Comfort+: 1 checked bag included
  • First Class: 2 checked bags included
  • Diamond Medallion: 3 checked bags included
  • Platinum Medallion: 2 checked bags included

Size and Weight Limits

  • Maximum dimensions: 62 inches (157 cm) L+W+H
  • Maximum weight: 50 lbs (23 kg) for standard bags
  • Overweight fee: $100 for bags 51-100 lbs
  • Overweight fee: $200 for bags over 100 lbs (not accepted)

Carry-On Bag Allowance

One carry-on bag and one personal item per passenger:

  • Carry-on: 22" x 14" x 9" (56 x 35 x 23 cm)
  • Personal item: Must fit under the seat in front of you

Special Items

Certain items have special handling:

  • Musical instruments: Can be checked or carried-on if within size limits
  • Sports equipment: Standard baggage allowance applies
  • Pet carriers: One pet carrier counts as carry-on or checked bag
  • Mobility devices: Wheelchairs and scooters always fly free
